afternoon in alexandria

i am always pleased when i can spend time in alexandria.  i was lucky to be able to meet up with an old friend for lunch, but before that we walked through the torpedo factory and enjoyed the studios.  then we shopped for a short time at decorum, a decorating shop, where i was reintroduced to decorating storyboards.  nothing like it!!

sails hung across the space between the first and second floor studio.  it gave the feeling of opportunity, of harnessing the wind.
i loved the paintings hung over the sinks, with the splash of color in the sponges.

torpedo factory

my favorite place to visit when i am in alexandria is
the torpedo factory art center
former torpedo factory converted into working artists' studios
situated on the potomac river

here's the link:
currently the target gallery is showing
"the language of paper"

i always walk away with inspiration
(and most times, a piece of art!)
