mentor marsh nature center
on an evening with sunshine, i drove out to the mentor marsh nature center.
the trails were under water and i didn't have proper footwear to slosh out to the marshes,
so i drove to another small observation area, also muddy, but only a short trek down the trail.

snow sentinels
we have had a bit of snow the last few days,
i hope that it is just winter throwing a fit at
the idea of leaving us for a while...
but late this afternoon the sun came out and
i remembered that i had some photos to post.
near the industrial park, sentinels guard the
buildings. shrouded trees wrapped in burlap,
that look like bodies. lined up for as far as i
could see.
an interesting sight.

the power of the sun
sunshine.....it has great power over me.
on a day filled with sunlight, i can accomplish
so much more than on other days.
i have not seen the sun shine for quite a few days,
but there was a day last week that had 12 hours of
sun....and i saved the best for last.
near the mentor headlands beach, there is a stretch of industrial
businesses including morton salt. there is also
a chemical plant and a sand a gravel business.
all of them have interesting buildings,
piles of different natural elements, and an enormous appeal to someone like me who
can't get enough of these industrial settings
and especially during the golden hour
when everything looks beautiful.

traditional quilts in the show
outside the skies were shades of gray, inside
a rainbow of color.
the traditional quilts from the quilt show in the farm park.
lots of stars, and beautiful quilting.
