just last week the "after Christmas" sales began in earnest
I went shopping.
enticed by the additional 25% off the sales price,
I carefully went through the racks,
sliding each hanger to the left, feeling the fabric,
leaving most, but selecting the best to carry to the
fitting room.
there were classic crisp white blouses,
wool slacks in grey heather,
another pair in solid black.
satisfied that the fit was flattering (or, at least,
not unflattering) I calculated the cost (less the
additional 25%) and told myself that it was a
bargain, and they were just exactly what I loved.
at the checkout,
I spotted the most beautifully tailored
simple red cashmere jacket with what looked like little running stitches
around the folded collar and cuffs,
and added it to my purchase.
I was happy
at home, I unpacked my new clothes
and carefully hung them in my closet
then the realization.....
how many times can I buy the same wardrobe?
