as was pointed out by my best friend,
today i was "living the life"
when i got up this morning
i took a shower, made the bed,
cleaned up the kitchen,
and put away the stray items that
were on the sofa and near my desk.
all this because today was the day
that my cleaning lady came.
i like to be out of the house
when she comes, but since i am never
there, i don't know what time she will arrive.
i packed up my laptop and headed
for panera bread where i ordered
toast and coffee.
an hour later i drove to the bank
and was distracted by the thrift stores
across the street. today was 50% off
everything in the store, yet nothing
really called to me
(i am still being influenced
by the oprah segment of
extreme hoarders)
so now what to do?
MASSAGE!! yes, i indulged and
went for an hour massage. it has been
10 months since i last had a massage...
i left feeling soft and mushy with a bit of a sheen
from the oils.
by now it was noon....not sure if jacinta
was still there, i stopped at my favorite
chinese restaurant for the lunch special.
hot and sour soup, an egg roll, one chicken wing (?)
and the entree, spicy vegetables and fried rice.
one of those sugar coated "donuts" and a
fortune cookie: "the most important
things in life aren't things."
i got home to an extremely clean house.
took a nap for and hour and a half,
a quick peek at the oprah show,
phone rings.....its my best friend
later:
a 40 minute workout with jane fonda ala 1982
nightly news, and
off to bed again
with my current read
"Raven Stole the Moon"
i am living the good life.
