My first visit to Chartres was in 1999 with Liz,
who guided me through the windows, the history,
got me to the train in Paris, and gave me a
sense of the kind of traveler I would become.
On my next visit to Chartres, in 2003, I climbed the tower
and overlooked the lovely village.
