upcycling

i am constantly on the lookout for old books that i can "upcycle."
i cut the covers off , save the insides for decorating (seems to be all the rage in upscale stores like restoration hardware, crate and barrel, anthropology, west elm), and make new books.

often it is the title that calls to me (such as "helen's babies"....this could be a perfect little album for my sister) , other times it is the decorative cover.  old books truly were a feast for the eye.

of course i can never pass up a reference to "stewardess"!
