i had never been to put-in-bay,
a cluster of small islands off the coast of sandusky.
so recently i asked a friend if she wanted to take a day trip to put-in-bay and we took off on a little jaunt.
south bass island was our destination and we waited in line at the ferry terminal.
on board the jet express, we cruised out of the canal to the lake, and soon caught sight of the perry monument.
it was lunch time, so we stopped at a nice restaurant that had a side porch so we could relax and watch the marina.
we then rented a golf cart and drove to the farthest point on the island, where you "can see canada from your front porch"
visited a winery,

shopped the souvenir shops (there were many) and 5 hours later were back in line for the jet express.
as a delight to all the visitors, there is a preserved allan herschell carousel (circa 1918) which lends to the old-fashioned atmosphere of the island.
it was a fun day on the island
