1358 volts or more

this installation was at the high museum in atlanta, ga in 2006.
i don't have the name of the artist, or the title of the piece,
but found it so interesting that i have saved the photos for 5 years.
if anyone out there knows who i should credit, please leave a comment.

the combination of wires, bulbs and unfocused photos of children or pre-teens made me quite uncomfortable,  yet i could not resist staring and wondering....what was happening?
what was the relationship of one image to another?  did the wires connect them?
and when would the lights come on?

rocks and stones are bountiful along the maine coast. they are smooth and gray, as gray as the fog and sky in winter. as i passed this shop, it occurred to me that i could decorate ledges, windowsills, tables and floors with the very materials that the coastline provides. add a little driftwood, a green plant, and voila! a lovely landscape.  even more beautiful with a slice or two of sunshine.

photo of the day 6

although i am not prepared to insult beachgoers with my body in one of these pieces of swimwear, i do love the look of it hanging on a rope, drying out.
soon i will be on the beach picking sea glass,
fully clothed.
